Architecture is not only about creating value, maintaining it is also important. This research focuses on residential architecture in line with a previous research into ‘Life cycle sustainability’. The central theme is shaped by the striving for freedom.

The resident determines his or her own living environment. We come from a housing tradition in which the placement of a bed, table and sofa is predetermined. The world is however changing in a rapid pace and with that the needs and lifestyles of residents. Plug & Play offers the resident all the freedom he or she desires and can manage.
