renovation and extension of Building 2400

The renovation with extension comprises the lecture rooms, laboratories and offices for the faculties of Earth & Life Sciences (FALW), Sciences (FEW) and Human Movement Sciences (FBW) and public facilities for the entire VU.
The existing, introvert structure of the building was reorganised, resulting in the public areas of the building facing the central VU campus square which has yet to be realised. The building has been given an open look, and the modern educational facilities, an atrium, open galleries and the facade promenades ensure a stimulating education and research environment. The building will be more open and the users more recognisable but at the same time, its largeness will be appreciated and augmented. At the front of the campus square will be a multifunctional and characteristic building for general campus education and study facilities.
Start realisation of the 1st construction phase in March 2006, completion of the final phase will be mid-2015.
