winner Haagse Monumentenprijs 2013


The facade of the former HBS school at Bleijenburg 38, which is now part of the Royal Academy of Arts, wins the Award for Building Restoration The Hague 2013! This is made public during ‘Open Monumentendag’. Alderman Rabin Baldewsingh presented the award. Almost half of the votes were in favour for the restoration of this listed building from 1874, which style is inspired on the Venetian Renaissance. Hereby, we will thank everyone who voted for this project.
Architecten van Mourik made the restoration plan. During the restoration process the natural stones has been taken from the brick wall, restored and attached to the wall again. Besides, iron pins are replaced and the stork – symbol of The Hague– decorates the cartouche. Read more about this project on our website.
